The Ken Jefferson Memorial

On what was the first cross country of the season Elswick had a small contingent of Juniors competing in these events. In what was the best attended event in terms of runners in recent times. We are little bit later with this report due to availability of results, however in the “old days” you would have to wait until Wednesday to get results when athletics weekly came out. Times have changed and you now get impatient if you don’t get them the same day.
Although we came very close we did not pick up any medals, (having studied the medals there was no sign of the Tyne on them).
With the weather cool but dry the first race of the day on this undulating course.
Under 11 boys Approx 1000M – 8th Edison Davies 4.15 sadly Jude Hamoodi missed the start, but had the chance to run in the under 13s and drop out before the finish .
Under 11 girls Approx 1000M – 8th Elodie Barker 4.47 – 9th Elodie Dawson 4.50
Under 13 boys Approx 1.8 mile – 6th Dominic Tomlinson 11.35 – 19th Harry Robson 13.55
Under 13 girls Approx 1.8 mile 5th Elodie Stoker 12.11
Under 15 boys Approx 1.8 mile – 4th Jacob McCoy 9.50
Under 15 girls Approx 1.8mile – 11th Lucile Barker 12.04 – 15th Niamh Logan 12.19 – 17th Cate Johnson 12.32 – 18th Millie Robson 12.41 – 23rd Jemima Bond 14.08
