Once again Elswick Juniors and supporters turned out in force for the 2nd meeting of the NEYDL series.
The weather was changeable with sun when the clouds disappeared, but it was still chilly. Most people had coats on, no need for suntan lotion (It seems like a broken record this year when reporting on the weather). We had 24 Elswick Juniors competing and our partnership team South Shields had 4 competing.
With the throws sessions led by Eric and Chris prior to the club night sessions, to practice javelin, shot putt and discus; and Simon’s Saturday sessions at Hexham, we had yet more PBs.
A big thank you to Andrea who covered more miles than anyone organising the juniors and Steven Bond who officiated to save us losing points. Sorry if we have missed anyone else who helped out, thank you.
The next meeting is at Whitley Bay on Sunday 21st June so please make the effort to come along; it really is a great day and a chance to get to know your fellow teammates between events. Hopefully the weather will be better then.
