Weekly race round up 15th to 21st September.

Redcar Half Marathon

The race incorporated the England half marathon champions, giving runners an opportunity to quality in their age group to represent England in a future race.

Kirk Haddon in action, he’s been in fine form lately and powered through the course record a superb time of 1:18, dipping under 80 minutes for only the 2nd time. Steve Robertson pulled on a race vest once again, his first long race since 2022, great to see the silver fox back in action running a great tome of 1:24. Rob Lambert also made the journey and what an impressive run, finishing 1:37.

North Tyneside 10km

The race switched from its traditional April date to September for the first time, helpfully back to normal next year. The switch didn’t put people off as it was a sell out as normal.

Conditions were perfect for a nice run at the coast, sunny but not too warm.

Our 11 athletes ran very well with Danny Spoor leading us home in a fine time of 37 mins. Joe Green and Justina Heslop ran 38 mins, with Justina finishing 3rd female overall.

Big shoutout to Sydney Bungay who is stepping up to the senior races and doing amazing!

Well done to Tony 39mins, Martin 46min, Debbie 46mins, Gillian 47min, Sydney 48mins, Joanne 50min, Ceara 51mins and Nigel 54mins all running well.

Berlin Marathon

Two of our guys flew to Germany for the Berlin Marathon and tick off another marathon major.

The conditions were very warm but the guys, Luke Hillard and Dave Jones battled on for excellent times with Luke clocking 2:33 and Dave 3:04.

Cracking effort fellas!!
