Races are subject to change (we don’t know exact dates at point of posting), we’ll consider alternatives if any races don’t go ahead as assumed or are cancelled at last minute. An additional internal race (this might not be like for like in distance or terrain) will be considered.

If any race listed above clashes with a Cross Country Fixture (2025/2026 fixtures not yet known), we’ll look at alternatives options.

2025/2026 Rules:

All athletes must complete at least one of the selected 2025/2026 Club Championship races to be in the running for a prize, however, the more races you complete the more chance you have of winning a prize!

An athletes best two 5km, best two 10km, and two ‘long/off road’ race will count to the overall standings.

Runners must wear their Elswick vest in official races. You can wear training tops or whatever is comfortable in an internal club organised run.

Athletes must be aged 18 and over before the first race in order to compete in the championship.  Your age at the date of the first race in the championship will determine your age category for the purpose of scoring.

Categories are in 10 year age groups Senior, V40, V50, V60 and V70 for both men and women.

Note: the Cross Country Championship is separate to the above fixtures and follows NEHL age groups.

Point scoring system will continue unchanged, i.e. 15 points for 1st, 14 points for 2nd, etc.

In the event of a tie at the end of the year; the runner with a better ‘head to head’ record across all races will edge the standings. If runners are still tied, the runner who completed the most Club Championship races will edge the standings.

Athletes have one month from the date of a race to query the points allocated to them. You can do this in writing by contacting Mike Russell.
