2023 Rules:
All athletes must complete at least one of the selected 2023 Club Championship races to be in the running for a prize, however, the more races you complete the more chance you have of winning a prize!
An athletes best two 5km, best two 10km, and best (one) 10 mile race will count to the overall standings.
Runners must wear their Elswick vest in official races. You can wear training tops or whatever is comfortable in park runs or club organised runs.
Athletes must be aged 18 and over before the first race in order to compete in the championship. Your age at the date of the first race in the championship will determine your age category for the purpose of scoring.
Point scoring system, i.e. 15 points for 1st, 14 points for 2nd, etc.
In the event of a tie at the end of the year; one point will be awarded for each championship race they have completed, those who completed the most races will edge the head to head i.e. someone completing three 5kms will receive 3 head to head points verses someone completing two 5kms who will received 2 head to head points – this will be the same for all distances.
Athletes have one month from the date of a race to query the points allocated to them. You can do this in writing by contacting Mike Russell.
Check progress via our Facebook Members Group.
Good luck and happy running 🏃♀️🏃♂️
