Gordon Smith Relays
We had 6 teams with 3 athletes per team… Our ladies A Team finished an impressive 4th overall.
In the men’s race, our A Team finished 16th overall.
It’s brilliant to see us fielding plenty relay relay team and looking at the results were all pushing each other on.

Fairfield Horshoe
Our mountain goat Pete Dawson took on the Fairfield Horseshoe fell race – the weather unbearably hot, he done amazing to complete in 2 hours 12 minutes.
Terenure 5 miler
In what looked to be a stacked field, Justina jetted over to Dublin for a Guinness… so no, a 5 miler. Completing the course is 30 mins, awesome running!

Justina Heslop flying the Elswick flag in Dublin. The Terenure 5 miles in baking conditions, 1500 competitors.
4th lady overall 1st over 40.
Clive Cookson
Normally a club championship race, but not this year, we had 9 athletes running the 10km route.
The evening was mild, bordering chilly but once we were underway you could feel that summer heat.
Mike Russell ran a great race to be our first home and pick up a prize for 2nd in his age category. He’ll spend those winnings on his ‘training camp’ in Spain… Nigel Hollier also picked up a podium place in his age group, his 2nd prize of the night after Tom handed over his Blyth 10km prize – better late than never 😉
Well done to our runners!

Track And Field fixture 2 – Churchill Playing Fields
With temperatures soaring on Saturday, our athletes had perfect conditions for the 2nd Track and Field league fixture.
Eric done a great job again rustling up another brilliant team. Hearing from Paul, or should I say Daley Thompson as he competed in 7 events on the day. We also saw Sara, James and Justin taking on the hurdles who would have banked some vital points on the day.
It’s brilliant to see some of our older juniors stepping up and taking part.
Well done to everyone that took part!
I’ve not seen any results as yet but they will be posted on their facebook page.

Pier to Pier
Our second Club Championship race of the year, we were expecting sun but got a chilly breeze instead. The breeze was welcomed once we got underway.
With 21 of our members taking part, we had a great turnout which is great to see given the clash with senior and junior track events.
Jonathan Rewcastle was our standout performer on the day who flew round the course to finished 8th overall. I believe Jude Nutt finished an impressive 4th women and 2nd in her age group.
Well done everyone!
Wild Deer Derwent Reservoir Races
Dave Jones took part in the 10km in what looks to be a challenging course.
He finished an impressive 4th overall and 1st in his age category. Not bad for a man nursing a hangover…
Great run Dave!
Events of the North Sunderland 10km
We had two finishers in the 10km run, Susanne Stephenson was our first home followed by Nigel Hollier.
Brilliant runs by the pair.
