Triathlon World Championship Series – Sunderland

This week we start in Sunderland who were hosting the Triathlon World Championship Series for the first time. Imogen Bungay competed in the sprint race (0.75km swim, 16.9km bike, 5km run) on Saturday finishing 15th overall and 1st in her category with an amazing time of 1:08:01.

Competing in the standard distance (1.5km swim, 36.8km bike, 10km run) on Sunday; Mark Turnbull came home 160th overall and 11th in his category and Rob Lambert just behind in 427th overall and 45th in his category.

Well done for braving the North East waters – great results!

Lakeland 50

Over in the Cumbria, Mike Steven, never daunted by a challenge took part in the Lakeland 50 over the weekend. The route takes you from Dalemain (North Lakes) to Coniston (South Lakes) and takes in 10,000ft of climb. Mike finished at 1:20am on Sunday morning in a time of 13 hours 40 mins, 12th mv60. An amazing achievement given the very wet and windy conditions that faced Mike!

Run Northumberland Super fast 10km

Last week, Danny Spoor and Liam Trevithick braved wind and rain at Ouston Airfield running excellent times despite the conditions.

Ullswater Epicman Triathlon 2023

Luke Hillard also braved the weather last week taking part in the Ullswater Epicman Triathlon, with lack of swim and bike training, Luke finished an amazing 16th in tricky conditions.
