Our runners have been treated to some wonderful weather this weekend, some might say tropical, sorry I mean biblical…
Wild Deer Ultra
Starting this weeks report with a little Sunday trott… James Sunley has certainly clocked the racing miles this year, and he added another other 36 miles to his total.
An incredible run by James in what has been a very windy day for our runners.
Eden Project Marathon
Luke Hillard was back on his travels – he’s like our very own Judith Charmers, I hope he collects his travel miles…
Luke was sensational again, running 3.05 for his marathon and finishing 2nd overall. This is incredible given the weather, and terrain, as he had to battle through wind, mud and hills.
Super run Luke!

Yorkshire 10 mile
Paul Taylor was probably thankful for dropping down to the 10 miler when he saw the forecast for Sunday.
The weather wasn’t a problem for him though running an impressive time of 1.07.
Great running by Paul!
Yorkshire Marathon
The York marathon has proved popular over the years for our runners and we had no fewer than 6 of our athletes competing.
Daniel Nettle and Heather Donald ran a brilliant races finishing 1 minutes apart, Daniel in 3.34 and Heather 3.35. Our marathon lady Debbie, wasn’t too far behind, securing her London GFA qualifying time, cruising to a 3.40.
Joanne Webber, in her last marathon, yes you’ve heard it here first, she’s retiring from marathons, ran a great race finishing in 3.53. It looked like a battle to end for Kisi Hardman and Melissa Bateson who both clocked 4.04.
Fantastic running by our super six!

NEHL Lambton Cross Country
With Druridge Bay cancelled last weekend we had Lambton to look forward to this weekend.
Luckily, the lions are all gone, mind they might make us run a bit faster if they did still roamed the grounds…
Lambton is turning in to one of my favourite venues, with some good downhills but horrendous uphills it makes for a very good XC course.
It’s brilliant to see some fresh faces, with Imogen Bungay, Imogen King and Simone King all stepping up into the senior ranks for the first time.
We welcomed 3 new faces in the men’s race also, with David Walton, David King and William Marsden all running XC for the first time.
We boasted a 13 strong women’s team, all of which running brilliantly. Imogen, coming 2nd overall leading the team home with Justina, Andrea and Little Legs being our first four home.

Our men also had 13 runners and again done us proud with brilliant runs. Callum led us home followed by Tony, David, Steve, Mike and Joe. Steve sprinting Mike to cross the line – snooze you loose I guess…

Huge thanks and well done to all our XC runners. I know to run faster next time to get a cake…
Let’s keep the numbers high for the remaining fixtures – well done everyone!
