This is our version of the Lambton worm (This may need explaining to some juniors or parents not originally from the North East)
“Whisht ! all haad yor gobs.
An’ aa’ll tell ye aall a lovely story.
An’ aa’ll tell ye about Elswick Junior’s “
In what was the 2nd event of the NEHL due to Druridge Bay postponement .
Yet another good turnout from Elswick Juniors.
The conditions were rainy with a muddy course and to add to that mix, parts of the course was hardcore underfoot. With an extreme hill. Fortunately storm Ashley was not in attendance and thankfully we have got rid of the other Ashley quite a while ago. The races took place in the scenic grounds of Lambton castle. Once upon a time it was a lion park this ceased in 1980, the only lions and lionesses we could see was our juniors.
