North East Harrier League @ Aykley heads XC
Fantastic conditions for once at one of the best XC courses on the circuit. Typically, as the senior races approached the wind became stronger blowing in a huge grey cloud, luckily enough the rain kept away and once you were involved in the race it felt very warm with sweat dripping off the brow. Underfoot it was actually ok as opposed to previous years, clarty and very narrow in sections but that’s XC, who wants an easy XC course anyway! The club appreciated everyone that made the effort to travel whether you crossed the finish line or not. It was great to see new faces join our the XC community, you were all awesome and were prepared to get stuck in and that’s all we can ask of you. Cakes and hot drinks were a huge hit and certainly helped morale.

Elswick men came 7th on the day in division 1 with 208 points, the lower the points the better with 6 scorers required. Congratulations to Luke and Lewis on both being promoted to the medium pack. Fingers crossed from here on in after that gutsy outing we can continue to climb the table and stay clear of the relegation zone, but we need you all to fight and put in a huge shift at the next Harrier League fixture at Thornley Hall Farm on Saturday 11th February.
