Saltwell 10k hosted by Saltwell Harriers

On a morning where it was 2 degrees it was fitting to see the final Elswick Harrier internal club championship race take place at England’s oldest road race. 3 undulating traffic free laps through and around Saltwell Park located in Gateshead. The team of volunteers were incredible from making sure the course was gritted and safe after a Jack Frost had visited during the night. Then the support from the marshals was really motivating especially the 2 elves’ singing to festive music on the hill as runners made their way up East Park Way. Some found the hills taxing others used them to their advantage, however what goes up comes down and, on this course, there are many fast downhill sections to claw some time back. And there is no better reward finishing a race before Christmas and receiving a whisky glass and miniature.

Christmas trail runs at Slaley Hall hosted by Wild Deer Events

Event moved to Slaley Hall from Chopwell Woods due to fallen trees after storm Arwen hit parts of the UK on the 26^th and 27^th of November.

8 mile race with ascent of over 600ft over boggy and wet trails!
