Race Round Up 10th January to 16th January 2022

Sunday 16th January 2022

York Brass Monkey Half Marathon Hosted by York Knavesmire Harriers

Whether you are a keen club runner, doing your first half, or just running for fun, this is the road race for you. A flat and fast course with 1,700 places available which is now in its 39th year.

Perfect running conditions as runners set off from Bishopthorpe Road next to York Racecourse heading south taking in a loop to the village of Appleton Roebuck after a long straight. Return back via the long straight passing through Bishopthorpe for the 2nd time before hitting the finish line outside the racecourse stands. Then water, confectionary and a white long sleeved top awaited each finisher and not forgetting the noise and screams of support as you approached the finish line.

Thank you to York Knavesmire Harriers for hosting yet another superb edition of this race that attracted a strong field.

It’s a positive start to the year as Elswick Harriers set fantastic times in York, brilliant running from all.
