This took place on a frosty day with the sun coming out which softened the ground in places. This is a five way meeting from the five local districts North Northumberland, Newcastle, Tynedale, North Tyneside, and East Northumberland.
To qualify you would have had to a run in your area and be selected to go to this level.
We had 21 juniors from Elswick representing their districts.

The first 16 are normally selected to represent Northumberland at the Four way meeting against Durham, Cumbria and Cleveland to be held this year at Middlesbrough on Saturday 5th February.
Runners will be selected from these races to represent Northumberland at the English National Schools Cross Country this year held in Kent, eight athletes will be representing Northumberland no minors for the final.
