Jesmond Joggers Anniversary Mixed Relay on 14th July 2026
Elswick Harriers had a fantastic turnout at the 1st edition of Jesmond Joggers Anniversary Mixed Relay, fielding five teams on a beautiful summer evening in Jesmond Dene.
Held to celebrate the club’s 20th anniversary, the event brought together 80 teams to tackle a short but brutally hilly 2.7 km course. The evening had a real festival atmosphere, with the Band of the Royal Regiment of the Fusiliers performing before the athlete briefing, with our own Bella joining in with the musicians (see facebook post https://www.facebook.com/share/r/19CkTd8qP2/?mibextid=wwXIfr) There was fantastic support around the course, and the presentations afterwards included generous spot prizes courtesy of Jesmond Dene House.
Congratulations to our A team of Dan Milton, Justina Heslop and Joe Horner, who finished 3rd overall in 28:20.
All five Elswick teams ran strongly and represented the club brilliantly. Many thanks to Jesmond Joggers and all of the volunteers for delivering such a well-organised event with a warm, friendly atmosphere. We look forward to returning next year.
