Juniors Report – Covid 2020 – Open NECCA meeting at Morpeth, Sunday 27th September 2020

In these strange times it was great that so many Juniors decided to put there training to use to compete and represent the club. It is with great credit and thanks that North East Counties Athletics Association and officials make the effort to put these events on.
Following strict Covid rules one of the conditions to get these events on no spectators were allowed so this is a virtual report.
This was the 3rd Covid meeting held at King Edward School Morpeth with a 10.30 start there were various athletic events during the day, however it was in the 800 meters and 3000 meters where Elswick athletes featured.
On what was a cold grey breezy day these are the results as follows.
Heat 1 of the 800 meter races featured Sydney Bungay (U13) in a time of 3.10 PB. – Heat 3 Erin Blight (U13) 2.51 PB – Heat 6 Bella Russell (U15)2.48 (PB) – Heat 8 Emily Allison (U17) 2.50 SB – Heat 9 Lucy Milburn (U15) – 2.29 – Heat 9 Poppy Wilde (U13) 2.36 SB – Heat 10 Imogen Bungay (U15) 2.33 – Heat 12 Poppy Old (U15) 2.24. Also new recruit Heat 15 Lewis Liddle (U20) 2.11 PB.
Next up was the 3000 meters races flying the Elswick flag was Imogen King (U17) 14.07 PB. Well done all excellent results from all the Junior Coaches.
