The club is organising an all inclusive club 3 km, handicap & age-graded run on THURSDAY 7th May.
This is the clubs way to help us celebrate VE Day (Victory in Europe). It marks the end of WWII in Europe. The UK’s official Bank Holiday VE Day takes place the following day on Friday 8th May.
Bespoke VE Day medals for finishers & helpers 🙂 (The club is pushed for time for a medal order). With this in mind & to take part or to help out, sign up via the club’s FB pages or the name sheet provided on the notice board. Be very quick Team Elswick! Entries close this Thursday, 27th Feb.
Age grading the event will throw up surprise results because of the age grading criteria 🙂
Background info: Collection of bib numbers will be at the centre. 1st runners off at 7 pm. In brief the 3 km course: Blayney row footpath & back down towards the centre via the ‘river footpath’ & back to the centre. Afterwards, join us in the upstairs function room for supper (details TBC). In 2016 the club held the same format run with 90 club runners taking part. The event will require support from around 14 volunteers. More details to follow nearer the time.
