Weekly Round Up 8th May – 14th May

Our round up this week includes two wins and a 3rd place for our talented members.

Felicity ‘Vice Captain’ Smith got us off to a brilliant start finishing first female at the Les Acorn 10km on Tuesday evening. It’s an undulating and very picturesque route through Hulne Parking in Alnwick, Felicity was rewarded well for her very impressive run, picking up the trophy, prize money and bar of chocolate!

On Saturday, four of our members headed over to the Lake District to compete in two very challenging events.

It was James Sunley and Mike Steven who picked the harder of the two races, they conquered ‘The Lap’ “a beautiful 75K/47 mile trail ultramarathon, following some of the most stunning trails in The Lake District.” Competitors have 24 hours to take in all the best viewpoints as they circumnavigate England’s largest and most iconic lake. On the hottest day of the year so far, Mike was first Elswick home and second MV60 overall with an impressive time of 12:44:31, James was next in with a time of 14:02:41. Both guys are always up for a challenge and showed amazing strength and endurance completing the 47 miles – well done guys!
