NEHL Alnwick
Normally our final XC of the year but with the rescheduled Drurdige Bay taken place on the 23rd our little XC swan song is delayed slightly.
We had a big turn out for both our men and women’s teams. Great to see us get a big turnout with 20 women and 20 men running at Alnwick.
Once again, we’ve seen some debut runs. Lovely to see Lisa Allan enjoying her first XC and Ceara Herring and Bella Pearce running after longs spells out.
Our ladies were led home by Justina Heslop with Heather Donald having a superb run finishing just behind and being rewarded with a promotion to medium pack for the next race.
Our men’s team had 6 debutants, two of which haven’t ran XC before. It was Elijah King who lead the men home with a cracking first XC run, he has narrowly missed out on promotion to the medium pack, i’m sure he’ll be knocking on the door again at the next fixture. Jack Gordon also running his first XC for us had an impressive run finishing our 6th counter for the team.
As a team we’ve done well and are still in the hunt to stay in the league, we do need everyone out for that final fixture so don’t pack away those XC spikes.

Alnwick was out last qualifying fixture for the Elswick XC Championship, awards to be handed out at our Celebration Night on the 22nd March – don’t forget to pick up your tickets.
CALL OUT FOR RUNNERS….
Please please please make every effort to make the final XC fixture at Druridge Bay on 23rd March. Both our men’s and women’s teams are at risk of relegation to division 2, a good turnout could secure our places in division 1. There will be cake!!!
We still have lots of numbers still to be collected so please come and run in the remaining fixtures to help us retain our places in the leagues. And, if anyone that isn’t registered and wants to take part, please let me know.
Check if you’re registered by clicking this link.

Luke was back in action running the Middlesbrough Half. He ran a brilliant time of 1.10 finishing 9th overall.
