DATEV Challenge Roth powered by Hep
Here is what Rob Lambert had to say about the event held in Germany.
Very hot race considering 31° peak and still 23° at night . 
3700 starters 700 relay teams . The whole county embraces triathlon week, estimating 250,000 spectators by police post co-vid. Could of done with an earlier swim wave there was no seeding on the swim. The 30 degree bike route goes through 16 villages, 2 laps, each village has a bit of a party 
famous solar hill with the crowds. Elswick Harriers running came in very handy on the run, 2nd half quicker than 1st, second wind from somewhere.
The club are aware of how hard Rob works to achieve what he does, even at our own internal club 10 mile race a few back now he clocked up over 19 miles on that evening in preparation for this event. Rob should be very proud of achievements at this warm event which may inspire others to take up the challenge in the future.
On Robs return his bike and suitcase didn’t seem to want to follow! We hope he will be reunited with them shortly.
