Quayside 5k Hosted by Gateshead Harriers

The race route is out and back on a very flat and fast course along the River Tyne from the Newcastle side of the Millennium Bridge to Newcastle Business Park, under the famous Tyne Bridge and returning to cross the iconic Gateshead Millennium Bridge to finish in Baltic Square.

Branches and Bays 10k hosted by Trail Outlaws

Starting in the local village of Hawthorn, the route takes you through the Durham Wildlife Trust and National Trust managed woodland of Hawthorn Dene. Then the running of the Bays of Hawthorn Hive and The Blast Beach.

Mouth of the Tyne Aquathon

Participants started on the beach at Tynemouth Haven and completed two 375m laps in the mouth of the Tyne. At the end of lap one participants left the water in an Australian style exit, run a short way along the beach and then re-enter the water to complete their second lap. After finishing the swim, the participants transitioned and started their 5k run by heading past the Collingwood Monument towards the River Tyne and along towards the redevelopments of North Shields Fish Quay. They returned along the riverside promenade, past the race start, and then run along the North Pier with the North Sea to either side. At the end of the pier participants turned around and headed towards the finish line with the magnificent Tynemouth Priory staring down at them.
