New Years Day Resolution Run on the Town Moor
2x laps totalling 5.30 miles on a very mild morning with all proceeds £1200 going to St Oswalds Hospice/Water Aid. Special mention to Imogen King who toughed out a very slippery 2 laps with kind support from Blyth Running Club.
Field size 120 give or take, no race results are taken for this event.

Ponteland New Years Day Wheelbarrow race
Ponteland’s New Year’s day wheelbarrow race has taken place for more years than most residents can remember.
Beginning at 12 noon at the Blackbird Inn in the centre of the village, beside St. Mary’s Parish Church, the race covers a circuitous course of just under a mile with the course record being just under 8 minutes.
Each two-person team are required to cover the course, with one member of the team always occupying the wheelbarrow. Each competitor must push the wheelbarrow at least 200 metres during the course of the race.
Wheelbarrows are supplied!

Hamsterley Winter Trail HM hosted by Greener Miles
Hamsterley Forest Winter trail ½ Marathon (trail miles so don’t expect 13.1) followed the wonderful crisp trails and tracks of the beautiful forest park, undulating but rewarding, with spectacular views of the valley and forest.
