Maybe not high in numbers but certainly high in quality, some of Elswick’s juniors took on the best runners in the North.
The saying “run like the wind” could never be more appropriate. The wind was so bad tents were not allowed to be erected on the course.
Any runner will agree that running in rain, snow or sun is fine, however running against gale force winds is another matter.
However our hardy juniors and parents battled to beat storm Malik on a difficult journey to the venue but put in some terrific performances.

Elswick was the only N.E. club to field a full team, finishing in a magnificent 6th place.

Well done to our juniors flying the Elswick flag. And a big thank you to Andrea for organising the juniors, and having to run herself later in the day – well done.
Next week some of our juniors will be representing Northumberland in the schools five way meeting at Middlesbrough. Not forgetting the Sherman Cup/ Davison Shield on the 12th February at South Shields which is part of the NEHL series.
