What a day for Elswick Juniors! On what was a damp cloudy day, the juniors put on their spikes once again, however; not all them kept them on during the course of the race. We don’t think we have seen so many runners losing their spikes, more on that later.
The course was waterlogged and very muddy in places. It’s always difficult to arrange teams on relays even more so with some unavoidable last minute dropouts, but Andrea and Jan somehow managed to get full teams out wherever possible. Thanks to parents and athletes for standing in at the last minute. These races are against the top teams in the North East.

8th B team – Matthew Harrison 12.23 (lost a shoe but retrieved it mid race ) – George Russell 12.58 – Tom Bentley 12.27

11th Liam Coulson 10.58 – Aiden Jones 11.37 – Jacob Dowson 16.17 ( who ran after loosing a shoe)
Under 17 Girls Approx 2.9K
6th Imogen Bungay 14.36 – Hannah Waterhouse 15.54 – Sydney Bungay 17.50
The juniors did Elswick proud despite a few recovering from sniffs and colds and not 100% fit, turned out.
We got one gold and two silver medals a very good day for the club.
