Elswick Juniors and our partners from South Shields once again formed a team in the 2nd division North in the NEYDL .
On the fourth and last meeting of the season what a team it turned out to be!
Finishing first team in the previous three meetings, the pressure was on to maintain this standard.
And guess what?
We went and did it again, finishing first team !
On what started out as a cloudy damp day it turned out to be glorious sunshine as the event progressed.
The coming together of the junior athletes, parents, grandparents, and supporters is really is great to see; all supporting each other whatever event they did.
If, for any reason you could not make any this year, ask your friends how enjoyable the experience was. We are sure you will want to compete next year.
While on the subject of next year – we will be promoted to the the first division, so there’ll be more opportunities to visit new venues.
Obviously the main players are the junior athletes, however a few mentions must go to Kerrie who makes the meetings appear seamless, also Simon and Andrea who not only put on extra sessions on a Saturdays to improve the juniors technique and confidence, but also for officiating all day.
Last but not least a big shout out to the NEYDL officials who without their support these events could not take place.
