The penultimate cross country nearly turned into a no show for quite a few people as directions were incorrect due to wrong post code which was later updated but by then most of the juniors were looking for the entrance to the park in convoy.
Numbers were down due to a clash with English Schools due to this event being rescheduled. Luckily they held back the first races so people could get parked . There were a few flustered children on the line .We were helping other clubs to pin numbers on the under 11s.
The weather was fine but it was a challenging course with a mixture of concrete paths grass, mud and hills. This was the first running on this course. Results as follows.
Under 11 girls 14th Ava Jones 8.30- 18th Evie Elliott 8.37- 24th Hope Henderson 9.07- 28th Sienna Keogan 9.22- 32nd Emily Allinson 9.32- 33rd Zara Bungay 9.42 -35th Eve Dickinson 9.53. under 11 boys 13th Liam Coulson. We had no u/13 boys representing Elswick in this race.
Under 13 girls 11th Lucy Milburn(FP) 17.18- 17th Erin Blight(FP) 17.35- 28th Ruby Russell 20.43- 30th Sydney Bungay(FP) 19.07- 32nd Hannah Waterhouse 21.00- 33rd Bryony Wilkinson 21.42- 38th Keira Bairstow 25.28- 39th Ciara Telford 25.42. 5th and 7th teams.

Under 15 girls 11th Lauren Stroud 19.07- 17th Isla Cardno 20.11- 18th Grace Ogilvie 20.24. 3rd team.
Under 17 boys 2nd Keiran Dixon 22.28 7th Tom Milburn 24.43. Silver medal for Keiran well done.
Under 17/20 girls 5th Charley Lee 27.50- 9th Marissa O’Rourke 29.33.
Well done everyone who turned our to represent our club. Our league positions are as follows at this point are Under 13 boys 8th . Under 13 girls 1st . Under 15 boys 11th. Under 15 girls 6th . Under 17 boys 7th . Under17/20 girls 1st.
The next race is on Sunday 29th March circumstances permitting at Druridge Bay this is another rescheduled event.
Well done to Hannah Tumia, Suzy Fielding, Imogen Bungay and Poppy Old who were selected for Northumberland to run at English schools at Liverpool on the same day.
