Junior report on the North Eastern Grand Prix held at Monkton Stadium Jarrow 28th April 2021

Once again some of our Junior athletes put their training to the test on the track at Jarrow. Maybe not high in quantity, but certainly high in quality.
Once again North East officials need to be congratulated on getting these events on in difficult circumstances and are superbly organised.
Yet again this is a virtual report as due to COVID restrictions no spectators or coaches were allowed at this event.
On what was a chilly evening south of the Tyne, first Elswick Junior competing in the 300 metres was Lucy Milburn (U15) in a time of 45.14 PB. Next on the starting line for Elswick in the 1500 metres was Bella Russell (U15) in a time of 5.26 PB. Followed by Poppy Wilde (U15) in a time of 5.18 PB. Last to race was Poppy Old (U15) in a time of 4.55 (PB). All fantastic performances and personal bests, with more to come. We hope for those who have not signed up for the NEYDL this is an inspiration to us all.
