From 27th Dec to 3rd Jan the challenge set from the BMAF for all masters athletes (anyone aged 35 or more) to run a virtual 10k with an aim to get runners back into action after Christmas.
Five Elswick Harriers proudly took part during this time frame who were as follows:
Richard Houghton (NEMAA) 36:46 which was a PB finishing 13th in the M35 category. Martin Connelly (ELSWH) who ran with Richard in snowy conditions clocked in at 37.07, this was Martins best 10k time in years in which he finished 7th in the M50 category. Mike Russell (ELSWH) & Mark Turnbull (ELSWH) tuned out together on New Years Eve and ran 37.56 and 38.18 respectively. Mike and Mark ran in the M50 category and finished 11th and 14th. Andrea Banner (ELSWH) ran a time of 46.02 on the 31st December finishing 6th in the W50 category.
Overall our runners finished in the following positions from 438 runners, Richard 50th, Martin 59th, Mike 72nd, Mark 82nd and Andrea 261st.
