George and Bella Russell were super excited to compete again at last and to put their recent Elswick training to good use. In his debut, George finished 11th in his TriStar 1 category and Bella finished 3rd in TriStar 3 against some stiff competition – most of the girls were members of Triathlon clubs. Great to see some fellow North Easterners from North Shields Poly also competing.
This event would not have usually taken place during the school holidays but due to the recent absence of competitive events Holmfirth Tri Club decided to host this race for the benefit of young athletes. Very well organised and friendly. All competitors went off at 30 second intervals in mixed gender races. And an ice cream for all finishers- lots of happy kids.
