Weekly race round up 24th to 30th November.

Leeds Abby Dash

We had 3 travelling down to Leeds for the Abby Dash – a popular race for those looking for fast times.

Kirk Haddon once again ran very well clocking 35 mins. Roland Brown ran 41 mins and Malcolm Liddle ran a very impressive 53 mins.

Croft Running GP

With 6 different race distances to pick from, it was a busy day for the marshals on the croft circuit.

Lisa Allan opted for the 10km run 55 mins and finished 3rd in her age category – great effort by Lisa as she builds up to her first ultra next year.

Dave Allan and Elijah King went for the half distance – Dave knocked a good chunk of time off his PB running 1.28, claiming a top 10 finish and 2nd in his age category. Good to see Elijah back racing finishing in 1.38.

Northumberland’s Big 10 miler

We had 4 competing in this 10 miler.

Mike Russell was our first home, claiming first place in his age category too finishing in a time of 1.08. It looked to be a race to the line for Allan Callander and Kristy Kehoe both running 1.24. Jeff Emmerson was our 4th athlete out there, running 1.56.

2026/2027 Club Championships – early notice

We’ve reduced the number of races slightly, included an internal race (helpers might be required), and hoping to have the Jelly T (Tynedale’s 10 miler) back.

If any races are cancelled we’ll try and find a suitable replacement or hold an internal race.

Races:

*March – Cowbell (5km) if no XC

April – Blyth (10k)

**May – Internal (3km or 5km TBC)

June – Rest

July – Sunderland (5km)

August – Jelly T (10 miles)

September – Rest

October – Rest – use for cancellations

November – Heaton Memorial (10km)

December – Saltwell (10km)

January – Rest

February – Sherman Cup/Davision Shield (off road)

26/27 Rules: Best 2 5km, 2 10km, 1 long/off road

Note: if a suitable like for like race can not be found, our replacement race will be ‘assumed’ the category in which it replaced i.e. an internal 5km replaces a 10 mile run, the replacement 5km race will count for the ‘long run’ points/standings.

*If Cowbell clashes with XC (very likely) we do a 3km track on a Saturday in May or June, date to be confirmed.

**If Cowbell goes ahead, we change the May 5km to a 3km on the track.

***Watergate is a popular 5km which we can consider for a backup race
