The junior Great North run was once again held on the Newcastle/Gateshead quayside with our famous bridges as fantastic back drop.
The course itself is 4K with a few undulating parts. As usual these races are of a very high standard with runners from all over the country coming to witness Geordie hospitality. The weather was fairly kind for runners with warm intervals and cloudy at times. With thousands of runners taking part Elswick had 24 in the races to our knowledge.
With nervous parents grandparents etc watching the races themselves got underway in waves during the course of the afternoon.
