Weekly round up – w/e 12/2/2023
There’s no better way to spend a Saturday than to run around a turnip field in the sun. Thornley Farm is one of the hardest NEHL fixtures and that didn’t put off the 58 athletes who pulled on the Elswick vest and ran so well!
24 adults ran; with our women’s team just about securing their place in Division 1 next season – well done lasses. Special mention to Rachel Dodds who has been promoted into the medium pack for the next fixture after finishing 13th overall – amazing effort!
Unfortunately its looking like the men will return to Division 2 after our first season in Division 1 for 11 years. It was always going to be a tough ask staying in Division 1 and we should be downhearted, we’ve seen excellent performances form the lads with many being promoted. Special mention to Lewis Liddle who finished 16th overall and was promoted into the fast pack for next year – and amazing XC season for Lewis!
I’m proud of each and everyone that turned out and give it their best today on our toughest XC courses.

We still have one NEHL fixture remaining at Alnwick on March 4th. One of the most scenic courses you’re going to do, so lets get it in the calendar and have another big turn out at the final fixture.
