Great to see and hear so many of runners taking part in events over the week! I think have everyone covered who ran in races over the week. If I have missed anyone or have made any mishaps with the timings and positions (eyes were spinning like a slot machine), please do let me know and I will have your performance added or altered asap.

Also please note these weekly race roundups are meant to give a brief overview.

Tuesday 18th May 2021

Steve Robertson ran his 10k effort for the club champs on the track at Blaydon on the morning of Tuesday 18th. Steve ran his 25 laps in a very commendable 38.12 with the support of Richard Houghton. Huge pat on the back for Steve for putting in a shift on warm and windy morning. Running 25 laps as a pair was mentally challenging especially not being able to chase others or have others chasing down ourselves like you would in a race environment.

Greener Miles Chopwell 10k

Field Size 72

48th Mary Hall 1.24.29 and 10th female

Massive kudos to Mary for running such a hard 10k route with an elevation gain of 944ft. Mary described this as being more of a xc/obstacle route that took her through beautiful woodland with steep inclines and declines whilst hurdling over fallen tree stumps. Really is good to see Mary wearing the Elswick vest with pride over the past couple of weeks.

Great work ladies on what Melissa described as a lovely route on good farm tracks or private road with a flattish first 4k followed by a long gentle uphill section. This resulted in a fast downhill leading to a flat finish in the grounds of picturesque Hulne Park.
