Hello Team Elswick. The Club has received a note from runner James Andreson. Here is that note:
Join me on the challenge ‘either 200 meters or 200 miles’.
We might have had a race or event cancelled but NHS and healthcare workers have had their lives cancelled due to the covid-19 pandemic. Remembering those NHS and healthcare workers who have given their lives for others. I, and hopefully others, am going to run from the Angel of the North ‘Newcastle’ to the Duke of Wellington ‘Edinburgh’ who won a notable victory against napoleon in 1815 at the battle of Waterloo and we will hopefully win our battle against this pandemic in 2020.
The 200 mile self-supported trip is going to be completed over 5 days (average of 40 miles a day) from Monday 20th-Friday 24th July to raise money to help others. These dates may have to change based on lockdown regulations. I am not asking for money (a donation would be great), but your support. I would like as many runners to get involved and join me on the challenge as possible.
How can you get involved? Tell your friends or club members about the challenge and get others involved. There is still a lot of uncertainty due to the lock down but if you would like to find out more, have a look at the itinerary or donate. Please see the following link: https://runformore.co.uk/ .If you have any questions, advice, or ways to support this challenge, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
James
