Charlie Jackson is an Elswick Junior and competes in our Under 13 section. This year, he came third in our Under 13 Championship. His brother Logan is due to join our Juniors Under 11 section once we get back to training. All our Juniors are incredible and an inspiration to all us “oldies.” Here’s a heart warming story of what these two have been doing with their daily exercise during the lockdown, courtesy of their proud Mum, Wendy:
“Charlie (11) and Logan (9) wanted to do something positive during lockdown. On 28 March 2020, they started their running challenge to raise money for Chloe and Liam Together forever Trust a charity very close to their hearts.
They have ran 22 laps of the garden everyday, come rain, wind or shine. Each session is 0.88 miles a massive 49.28 in total which they completed today (22nd May 2020) at 10.31am on the 3rd anniversary of the Manchester attack dedicating each lap to every person who lost their lives.
They hoped to raise £220 and as of now their current total is £1878.
The money raised will allow other children and young people to reach their dreams.
