2020 Norman Woodcock VR Relays

Hello Team Elswick. Men’s Captain Richard Houghton has taken a lead on an initiative to put on a virtual Norman Woodcock Relay Event for North East Clubs. We are certain it will prove popular and be a successful ‘VR’ event. Richard will keep members and NE Club’s up to date via social media, the club’s website and FaceBook.

The club is taking the opportunity to raise money for a very worthy cause: Pavilion Court Care Home, Newcastle where our much loved coach and 66 year club member Colin Bolton is a resident. Richard has been in contact with the care home and they desperately need new garden furniture for their residents to use throughout the year. The existing furniture is in a poor state of repair. Their outdoor space is so important, given the restrictions placed upon the care home and its residents.

Teams will enter the relays with a voluntary option to pledge money to the care home, via a Just Giving link here > 2020 NWR VR. If you would like to make an individual contribution, it will make a significant difference to the final total. The care home would truly appreciate your donation. Please spread the event word with fellow club runners. On behalf of Richard’s superb event organisation and Pavillion Court Care Home, Thank you. HM, FW, GB.
