Tynedale ‘Pie n Peas’ 10km
Often a popular race with our runners, this years pie n peas had 5 of our runners completing.
Danny fresh off his all inclusive holiday ran a very impressive time around the 10km in hot conditions with Callum not far behind.
Lee, Nigel and David also making light work of the course.
Well done fellas!

Tyne Bridge Harriers Bridges of the Tyne
Again, often a popular run for our members but it’s been a busy time for racing of late and a clash with the pie and peas race on the same day reduced our representation – 4 of our members took on the 5 mile route along the quayside.
It was a close run thing against all our runners with Rich finishing ahead of Dave, Roland and Ben not far behind.
Well done fellas!

Chevy Chase
We had 5 crazy fellas running in the undulating Cheviot Hills.
Running under 4 hours is the holy grail for me and always out of me grasp. Jonny Lowes proved that hard work and long runs do pay off by dipping under the 4 hour mark for the first time.
Joe in his first attempt managed to navigate the course very well coming in just behind Pete who has struggled with illness of late to post a time quicker than last year. Sleep deprived James who is prepping for his Lakeland 50 run in a couple of weeks also managed to shave time off last years attempt.
Great going by the guys in the changeable weather conditions.

Great North 10km

It’s amazing to 15 members taking part in this years Great North 10km.
Hazel was the first Elswick home on the day with an impressive run. Sarah looked to hold off Sean to gain bragging rights in the household.
Lovely to see Harry and Abi running the 10km along with Jonathan who is fresh from his honeymoon.
In total i’ve counted, 7 graduates from Simon’s none to run course. Superb achievement by everyone!

Challenge Roth
Mike was on his travels again, flying the Elswick flag in Germany this time round.
Mike took on the 140.6 mile course, swimming, cycling and running his way to a very impressive time of 11 hours 5 mins.
An incredible achievement considering he felt a bit under the weather and would have had a late night due to the penalty shootout at the Euros on the Saturday.
