FANTASTIC NEWS, WE WON BOTH SHERMAN CUP & DAVISON SHIELD
This includes all of our Elswick Teams seniors, juniors boys and girls.
Everyone who took part made the difference.
The Sherman Cup was donated to the local cross country league by Sherman’s football pools in 1949. In 2002 former Harrier League secretaries Pam and Ron Davison donated a trophy so that the ladies could compete in a similar competition to the men. All ages apart from u/11s count towards the overall points; these races differed from the Harrier League: No packs – all scratch races. Three score per team. Due to injury and illness plus other commitments we could not fill a team in the under 17 girls but we had teams in every other age category, this shows the depth of our club. An excellent turnout and very well done to all our juniors who represented themselves and the club with great performance’s. Also parents, grandparents and coaches . Compared to two weeks ago the weather was kind to us so good running conditions with a lot of mud at some parts of the course.
