The passion shown by runners and clubs across the North East is simply awesome.
As there was no entry fee for our Virtual Good Friday Relays a Just Giving fundraising page was created to raise funds for the purchase of a lockable cabinet & defibrillator. A huge amount of £1690.00 was kindly donated by clubs, runners and non-runners with the money going to ensure the maximum safety of our runners at training sessions and club events.
Not only this the cabinet and defibrillator located on an outside wall at Newburn Activity Centre means that this can be accessed by the centre users and also the wider community at a time in need.
The club would like to say a massive thank you to Cardioproof for supplying the much needed equipment. Colin from Secure Tech Systems NE LTD for mounting & wiring the cabinet. To Neal the centre manager for liaising and allowing us to place the cabinet upon a wall.
And to all involved in these popular Relays hosted by the North East’s oldest club we couldn’t have achieved this without you.
