Entries close at Midnight on Sunday 14th June 2026.

Entry Fees: Attached runners £19. Unattached, non club runners £21

On the day entries accepted only if the event limit (350) has not been reached. A £2  surcharge applied to all runners.

When: Wednesday 17th June 2026. Start time is 7pm.

The postcode for Newburn Activity centre is NE15 8ND on Grange Road.

Free parking at the centre is open from 5.30pm. Please follow marshals’ directions. Car share wherever possible or consider using public transport.

Doors open at 5.30pm onwards to collect your bib number from the registration desks inside the sports hall. Don’t forget to bring your safety pins!

It is your responsibility to complete the reverse side of your bib by clearly writing your respective details. It is important, so take your time to complete.

Elswick Harriers will endeavour to provide a safe running event. Ultimately, runners remain responsible for their own safety.

We all have a responsibility to keep the areas we use this evening, clean and tidy.

Facilities: Toilets, changing & showers are available at the centre. People’s  vehicles and personal possessions are left entirely at the owners risk.

1st aid posts are positioned at the start / finish line & at the half way point.

Do not wear ear or head phone devices. Do not spit at the start finish line or in the funnel finish area. All accounts can lead to disqualification. 

The start line is 700m from the centre. A briefing takes place at 6.55pm at the start line. The course: A 5-mile out and back route, flat in nature and utilises the paths of the Riverside Park & Wylam Waggon Way. A turn around point at 2.5 miles sees runners return the way they came.

Kindly note the route is open to fellow members of the public & may have dog walkers and cyclists on the route.

INSTRUCTION: KEEP LEFT WHEN RUNNING.

Overtaking: make a respectful courteous move and return to a KEEP LEFT POSITION.

Exercise caution on the private road section at Moore Court where several significant potholes are present. To make you aware they are highlighted.

Around the half way point there is a water station & a drop zone for used cups.

As you cross the finish line you will be channelled into single file & instructed to keep moving along by officials. There is a water bottle handout after the funnel section. Collect your supper pack at the centre and stay with us for the awards which will be handed out as soon as the results are finalised.

Kindly note: All awards are entirely at the discretion of Elswick Harriers.

Informal prizes may be awarded at the finish line.

Note: An athlete can only win one individual prize with the highest value prize awarded: Example: A veteran athlete finishing first overall will received the 1st place prize and the age category prize will go to the next place age category winner. Athletes can qualify for a team award.
